May Prayer Gathering
Our next Friends of Sannox prayer gathering will be at 8.00pm on Monday 4th May.  We hope you can join us for a time of prayer and worship.

Come and Visit Us
Bookings at SCC are always open!  Come aside and enjoy for rest and restoration, with some time away from it all.  Or, you might need to just have some time to seek God in this season and explore what he is saying to you just now.  You can join in with daily morning worship and prayer, explore the island, take light or challenging walks, see the wildlife and seek after God in this beautiful island.  The team look forward to welcoming you!

Upcoming Events and Retreats

Sannox AGM and Sannox Saturday
Our next Sannox Saturday takes place on Saturday 2nd May.  This will be preceded by the Sannox Christian Centre AGM for the year 2024-25 at 1.00pm as intimated recently in a separate email with the agenda.  All are welcome to attend. Bring your lunch and stay at Sannox on Saturday.  For Sannox Saturday, as usual, we will start at 2pm with coffee, then a time of worship, prayer and a message following.  We look forward to seeing all who are able to gather with us!  Andrew Clark will be speaking this month.

The Third Sannox Shapenote Weekend – Fri 22nd – Sun 24th May 2026
We will be welcoming Shapenote singers from across the UK and beyond for a weekend of singing from the ‘Sacred Harp’ song book – a collection of acappella songs in four parts sung unaccompanied at good rousing volume!  Come along and learn something new.  It begins on Friday evening at 7.30pm with a ‘Singing School’ introducing the basics.  On the Saturday, the singing starts at 10.30am through until 3.30pm with plenty stops for tea and lunch.  Lunch is ‘dinner on the grounds’ – an opportunity to share food, so if you’re coming, please do bring something along.   On Sunday, there will be another opportunity to sing from 1pm through to 4pm.  Then, those staying on can join in the folk night at the Ormidale Hotel, where they love to hear the odd Shapenote offering as part of the evening!   Come and try something new!

Accommodation is booking up fast, but for this event, camping on the grounds is also available.  Contact admin@sannox.org.  Accommodation is at the usual suggested donation.  There will be an offering on Saturday towards the Centre’s work.

‘The Railway Man’ – Faith and Reconciliation – Saturday 13th June 2.00pm for 2.30pm
Advanced Notice: Join us to hear Charmaine McMeekin share the amazing story of her father’s capture as a POW at the Burma Railway during the Second World War, and the forgiveness and reconciliation extended to one of his notorious prison guards, which then led to a special friendship.  The story was adapted into a major film in 2013, with Colin Firth as Eric Lomax and Nicole Kidman as Patricia Lomax.  Please invite your friends to come and hear the story.
PLEASE NOTE:  This event will take the place of Sannox Saturday for June.

Growing Together in Prayer — A Newly Available Daily Prayer Office at Sannox Christian Centre
At Sannox Christian Centre, we long to be a community rooted deeply in God’s presence — not just during retreats and gatherings, but in the everyday moments of life. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a simple, beautiful Sannox Daily Prayer Office to support and strengthen your devotional rhythm.  These resources are tried, tested and well-prayed at SCC.

This prayer office offers four gentle touchpoints with God each day:
   •  Morning Prayer – to begin the day grounded in Scripture and hope
   •  Midday Prayer – to pause, refocus, and invite God into the busy hours
   •  Evening Prayer – to reflect, give thanks, and release the day to God
   •  Celtic Prayers Before Bed – to rest in peace and God’s loving care

Why a Daily Prayer Office?
   •  Builds consistency – Regular prayer rhythms help faith become a natural part of daily life
   •  Deepens your walk with God – Scripture, reflection, and prayer shape the heart over time
   •  Connects our community– knowing others in the SCC community are praying with you each day creates a shared spiritual heartbeat
   •  Brings peace and perspective – short moments with God can transform even the busiest days

Whether you’re new to structured prayer or longing for fresh devotion, these rhythms are designed to be accessible, warm, and life-giving.

Prayer Packs Available in our Web Shop (£6.50 for the 3 booklets – post included).  There are also digital downloads individually available.

The Sannox Prayer
“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here – in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”

We bless you in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you, and we thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC.
