We are open through the Arran Open Studios Weekend where we play host to several artists who will have work to show and for sale.

We have some special workshops on:

Pam Hamilton Media Experience and Watercolour Adventure Workshops
(Friday & Saturday)(Please contact us for exact times)
Using a heat to transform the following junk: Packing, ice cream wrappers (officially known as Tyvek), Lutradur, Crisp packets, Organza, Ribbon, Fusible fibres etc. to create art pieces, possibly adding beads, jewellery, found objects and other media on a variety of surfaces.
COST: £10 per session

Emma Aiken Workshops in Stained Glass Collage and Paper
Workshops taking place between Friday 11th and Monday 14th August – Please contact us to book specific slots.
Emma is an established stained-glass artist who studied this as well as drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art.
All her ideas start on paper and her interest in collage has sprung from wrestling with ideas for stained glass windows – literally tearing them up at times to rearrange or integrate with something new.’
COST:
£15 per session for stained glass work
£10 per session for paper collage work

Albanach Knitter (Andrew Clark) Knitting Workshops
Sannox Christian Centre’s Andrew Clark is also a knitting YouTuber with his Albanach Knitter Video podcast. Andrew will be hosting 3 workshops on Friday – Sunday (2pm – 4pm each day) of the Arran Open Studios Weekend:
Friday: Knitting for Beginners – the basics of casting on, knit stitch and purl stitch
Saturday: Learning to Knit ‘Magic Loop’ (for those who already have basic knitting skills) – using a long cabled needle, learn how to use the magic loop method to get started on a knitted beanie without any hems!
Sunday: Simple Colour Work or ‘Fair Isle’ Knitting – get support to get started with a simple item in the round with more than one colour yarn. Support with reading colourwork charts and some tips and pointers. (You’ll need to have an awareness of basic knitting skills, working in the round or ‘magic loop’)
COST: £10 per session to cover materials.
