Artist Friends of Sannox are participating in Arran Open Studios this year.
Arran Open Studios is an event held on the island over a weekend in August – this year between the 14th and 17th. During that time artists on the island open their studios to the public to enable people to go from studio to studio to meet the artists, watch them at work, take part in workshops and to view and purchase works of art. This year there are over 30 studios scattered throughout the island taking part. Further information about the event and the special bus which goes between venues is available at www.arranopenstudios.com
Sannox Christian Centre is Venue 12.
The friends of Sannox will exhibit their works in the newly refurbished Dundarroch. The artists participating are Emma Aitken, Colin Black, Maurice Gunn-Russell, Ronnie McNiece, Moira Shirreff and Pam Pott. The exhibition will be open from 10am till 5pm during the four days of the Arran Open Studios weekend. Most pieces of work will be for sale and all artists will donate a portion of their sales to the Centre.
Pam will be offering a workshop in her craft on the Saturday and Emma will be offering workshops in Stained Glass on Friday and Saturday. At other times during the weekend a variety of art materials will be available for friends and visitors to create their own pieces of art work. Further materials can be gathered from the beautiful environment around Sannox – the beach, the hedgerows and the wooded areas. The Rhythm of Prayer will be ongoing throughout the weekend.
We would really value your prayer support for this event and also invite you and your family and friends to visit the exhibition and take part in the workshops. It is a tremendous opportunity to introduce many new people to what God is doing at Sannox and also to raise funds for the next step in His unfolding plan.
