April Prayer News

“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here; in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”

We continue to say this prayer together so that the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, might be glorified and His light, love, peace, forgiveness and power might sweep through the Isle of Arran, the rest of Scotland, the United Kingdom and the nations of the world

Key Prayer Points

1. Prayer Gatherings – In Edinburgh we will gather on Monday 1 April 2019 at the home of George and Fiona Hazel starting at 8 pm prompt. We will be joined by folks on Arran and across the UK and abroad. Please join with us as we join in prayer and thanksgiving for what God is doing at Sannox.

2. Encounter Events

a. 16 March – The Hosting Day at Troon was a great success, although sadly 5 people didn’t make it because of the snow. Just over 20 people attended and a number signed up to host in the coming months. We do need more hosts to sign up to try to cover as much of the season as possible. Please look at your diaries and the calendar and put in at least one booking. Heidi will be emailing all those who are interested in hosting and will be regularly sending out the calendar showing hosting and guest bookings. Hosts can therefore email Heidi to book a slot when they are free or they can look at the calendar and book where the gaps are that need filled. Please email Heidi at admin@sannox.org to help.

b. 19-21 April– Easter weekend. Accommodation is still available in Dundarroch Cottage if you want to spend Easter at Sannox. Email admin@sannox.org to book.

c. 3-4 May – Living a Fear Free Life – led by Andy Hall, Lighthouse Church, Troon. This is a repeat of the successful event in 2018 but it will be held at Sannox. Email admin@sannox.org for more information and to book.

d. 31 May-1 June – Walking the Ancient Paths – led by Roy Searle, Leader of the Northumbria Community and held at Sannox. Email admin@sannox.org for more information and to book.

e. 2-5 August – Arran Open Studios. We are hoping to have the church wind and watertight to accommodate workshops even though it will just be four walls, a roof and an earth floor!

f. 6-7 September – Song writing workshop led by Jim Farrell, Francis McFaul, Adam Walsh and George Hazel. A weekend of worship through music releasing new songs from Sannox for the Kingdom. Email admin@sannox.org for more information and to bookEnter your description

Restoration of the church and manse

The contract is proceeding well with most of the demolition work now done. The buildings are stabilized and the rot removed. Because of extensive rot in the church roof this is having to be removed and a new roof constructed. This has cost and extra £8,000 plus VAT. We are hoping the church and vestibule roof and the bell tower and church windows will be finished and watertight by the end of May ready for volunteers to come and paint the church, start the inside refurbishment and build the temporary toilets and kitchen in July. We would love to be able to say to the contractors when they are on site to install the new floor in the church ready for the fit out later but that will cost an extra £10,000. We are retaining some of the pews but some are available if anyone is interested? We are asking for a donation of £60 per pew to help finance the church refurbishment. Again email admin@sannox.org for more information.

Financial Plan

Our finance group has been working on a finance plan for the operation of the centre and the funding of the current construction work. The plan will be put to the Directors at their meeting on the 20 April. The plan involves cutting our monthly costs, minimizing expenditure, increasing our income by doubling our occupancy rate supported by a marketing action plan and looking at securing interest free loans and other loans. We are also looking at various funding bodies. Please pray for the Finance Group as they finalise the plan and for the Directors as they discuss it. Continue to pray for the release of resources to fund the current work.

We bless you, in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you and thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC. May we see more and more people being rested, restored and revived at Sannox in 2019
