Prayer News – June 2023

June Prayer News

‘When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place…’  – Acts 2: 1

As we journey through the Easter season and then into Pentecost, we’re reminded that the Gospel didn’t remain shut up in Jerusalem but exploded outwards, propelled by the Spirit, through all the known world. God left nothing to ‘chance’ – the coming of the Spirit when people were gathered in Jerusalem from across the Roman Empire was no accident. Each heard the works of God proclaimed in ways they could understand!

We live in a day where, even if we share one language, the Gospel has to be proclaimed in language people can understand. The greatest language it can be proclaimed in is the language of love…and the language of music comes close. And if food be the music of love…play on! It is N T Wright who highlighted in his impactful work, ‘Surprised by Hope’, that the church should be one of the most celebratory communities on the planet because the resurrection changes everything, and the Holy Spirit breathes his creative missionary impetus through the lives of his people if we’d only let him!

The Spirit was given to the believers when they gathered together in unity, awaiting the promise. The great news is that the promise is for us too. We at Sannox hope to play our part in God’s eternal purpose, and we’d love to encourage you in it in whatever way we can.

Sannox Saturdays

The monthly Sannox Saturdays – special times of worship, prayer and teaching – continue on the first Saturday of each month. We start at 2 pm with a cuppa and a catch up and we enter into worship by 2.30pm. We usually finish by 4pm

Our next Sannox Saturday is on the 4th June 2023 at 2.00pm for 2.30pm. This month we explore the dynamite that God has placed in the DNA of his people for his glory. Are we a movement or a monument?

We bless you in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you, and we thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC. Be blessed and protected in all you do for the Kingdom, in the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus.
