December Prayer News

‘The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.’
Isaiah 9:2

Many of us living in the UK are used to December darkness, certainly the further north you go.  Arran definitely plunges into a winter darkness with less street lighting, smaller villages, and being surrounded by large areas of mountains, fields and sea!  The Rev Angus M’Millan, when writing about the spiritual state of the island in the early 1800s, quotes that passage of scripture as a comment on the spiritual darkness all around, but very quickly speaks of the dawning light that came with spiritual revival through his ministry – a legacy that many on the island carry, and which many of us have been praying into in recent days.

On one hand, Sannox Christian Centre is a place where you can come and get away from it all to enjoy the beauty, peace and grace of the setting, but day by day, we are seeking to live out our essential call to be a place of prayer and worship as part of the ongoing battle for the health, salvation and wellbeing of this beautiful island, the nations and their peoples.  We celebrate another year of prayer, worship and ministry this year where we have welcomed friends old and new, and where we’ve had opportunity to play a part in what God is doing.

We step into 2024 with confidence in God’s blessing as we align ourselves with his heart for us.Thank you for your faithfulness to the mission and ministry of Sannox this year, through your prayers, your giving, and all the other ways you have supported us.  We continue to pray that the ever increasing, dawning light of Christ will shine among us all in these days.

Our next Friends of Sannox prayer gathering is at 8.00pm on Monday 4th December.  We look forward to praying and worshipping together with as many of you as possible.   Prayer underpins all we seek to do for the advancement of God’s Kingdom – please join us if you can. Contact us for details.

The Sannox Prayer

“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here – in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”

We bless you in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you, and we thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC.  Be blessed and protected in all you do for the Kingdom, in the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus. The Trustees & Team of Sannox Christian Centre
