In Edinburgh we will gather on Monday 2 December 2019 at the home of Moira and Gordon Shirreff, starting at 8 pm prompt. Please note the change of venue. We will be joined by folks on Arran and across the UK and abroad. Join with us in prayer and thanksgiving for what God is doing at Sannox. |
2. Restoration of the church and manse
· Stewardship Loan – We think we have now completed all that is required by Stewardship and their lawyers and are hopeful that the loan will be released very soon. Continue to pray that all goes smoothly in this final stage. |
3. Events |
Easter Open Day and Rededication of the church – 10 to 12 April 2020
We continue to work out the details of the weekend but it will include starting with a period of 24/7 worship, then on Saturday an open day for visitors from on and off the island. On Easter Sunday a dawn service on Sannox beach and an afternoon service of celebration. An invitation will be sent to local ministers and their teams from the island and from North Ayrshire and of course to our Friends of Sannox and the people of Arran. Please put this in your diary, come to the event and bring others. The Directors are meeting on the 21 December, so please pray for us as we meet and plan this important event. |
Worship and Prayer at Sannox – 2 November 2019
We had a wonderful time of prayer and worship with people coming from the island and the mainland. Give thanks to God for these times and for growing prayer support. |
Hosting Open Day – Saturday 15 February 2020
We are so blessed by the hosts we have and want to thank and honour them and build on their foundation. So, we are holding another Hosting Open Day. This is for existing hosts to come and give us feedback and to pass on their experiences and expertise and for those who are interested in hosting. Our aim is to have hosts on site all year round, so please come to the event and learn more about hosting. Details will be sent out in the near future but put the date in your diary. We want as many hosts as possible to attend and lots of new hosts. It will be a time of celebration, thanksgiving and information. The event last year was a great day. It will be held at the Lighthouse Church in Troon. |
Future Events
Continue to pray for the development of these themes: • Alpha weekends, hosted by SCC or self-hosted. |
4. Building a Sannox Community on Arran
It is interesting to note the number of Christian people who have felt called to come to Arran to live and are attracted to SCC. We have met a number of people who want to get involved and we know of others who are thinking about coming to live on Arran, perhaps next year. These people and some local Christians have expressed a desire to form a support group around SCC and its development on the island. This group could meet regularly for prayer and worship. Please pray as we talk about this as Directors, and to the people on the island, that we will discern God’s will for the future. |
5. Marketing SCC
The good news is that more and more people are coming to SCC. The number of bed nights is rising year on year. Please continue to spread the word about SCC to your networks and friends. It is so encouraging to see new Friends of Sannox signed up to our network. You are our ambassadors. We want to strengthen links with other organisations, such as SU and Pray for Scotland. We are also keen to forge links with churches, so if you are interested in a link with SCC and/or want one of the team to come to your church to tell the story of Sannox then please email Heidi on admin@sannox.org. |
6. Pray for the building up of Christ’s community on Arran
Pray for the Christian community on the island and for the ministers of the churches that they may know a fresh outpouring of His power and presence. We bless you, in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you and thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC. May we see more and more people being rested, restored and revived at Sannox in what remains of 2019 and in 2020. |
