“Prayer – The sinew that moves the muscle of God” [Summary of Charles Spurgeon quote]
“We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the Heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth.” [Andrew Murray]
There are many, many quotes about the unique importance and power of prayer. We know that spending time in prayer on our own is a key part of developing a ‘Christ-like’ character within us as disciples of Jesus.
However we also know that there is a special dynamic, a spiritual and supernatural dynamic, when Christians come together to pray – and to pray in unity. Psalm 133 reminds us that when we do that, ‘God commands His blessing’ [emphasis added]
We are also instructed to persevere, to ‘keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking’ because Father God hears every prayer and He will answer – in his own way and in His own time.
So even though it may seem that month after month we are praying for the same things, we do not give up, we do not lose heart, because each month brings us one month closer to the answer. And as we persevere, Christ is forming His character within us.
So, as the Friends of Sannox, if we want to experience God ‘commanding His blessing’ on us and the project, please do join us next Monday, 5 July for an hour of worship, updates and prayer, as we continue along the path set out for us to fulfil the Sannox vision.
Lord, we give You thanks for…..
the first successful ‘Sannox Saturday’ worship gathering on 12 June;
a successful retreat event led by Roy Searle, from 21-24 June;
for the ongoing bookings for Dundarroch, increasing as the restrictions are eased;
positive feedback about the Project 200 proposals from the meetings with Advisors and Friends;
finding Jim & Angie Farrell a home to rent;
the latest donations, including an anonymous gift of £1,000 (plus Gift Aid) received on the day of the Directors’ and Friends’ meeting about Project 200 – a sign of what is to come?
Please pray for…..
another successful ‘Sannox Saturday’ gathering on 3 July;
the gathering of worship leaders from 2 – 4 July: that it will be a powerful time of fellowship and of building strong relationships, and it will contribute to birthing the ‘song of Sannox’;
the completion of the fibre broadband installation – there is a part of the existing link to the public network that needs upgrading;
an increase in regular giving of around £300 per month, to establish a firm financial foundation to meet all monthly running costs;
the ongoing planning for Project 200;
the meeting at Sannox on 21 July with the Secretary of a large Christian grant-making Trust, who wishes to visit the location and hear about the vision and the plans – that he will ‘catch the vision’ and submit a favourable report and recommendation to his Board.

“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here – in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”
We bless you in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you, and we thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC. Be blessed and protected in all you do for the Kingdom, in the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus.
