Sannox Prayer News – January 2021

The word ‘unprecedented’ has been on everyone’s lips in 2020, and there is no doubt that the year we are leaving behind is one we will remember for a long time – for good reasons as well as for bad.

As we transition from 2020 to 2021, we should always remember that the ending of something old is at the same time the beginning of something new.  The cycle, the rhythm, of times and seasons flows on – a reminder, if we needed it, of our creator God’s constancy, faithfulness, grace, mercy, compassion and above all, His love.  So we leave behind the old year and as we do, we look forward with hope and expectancy to the new year, with all its potential and promise, as well as its challenges.

For this month, instead of a list of specific points, we are asking you firstly to look back and give thanks to Father God for all he has done in, with and through the Directors, Staff, Advisors, Volunteers, Friends and supporters/funders to progress the Sannox vision – especially for the completion this year of the renovation of the Church building.  Take a few moments to reflect how far along the road we have already come – and give grateful thanks for all who have made that possible, praying God’s blessing on them.  Ask God to continue to guard and protect all that has been achieved to date.
Secondly, as we look forward, pray He will continue to guide and lead those responsible for planning and executing the next major stage – the conversion of the former Manse into additional accommodation – as well as the completion of external works around the Church and the installation of fibre broadband to enable worship to be ‘live streamed’, when it is possible to do so.   Pray that God will open the doors of His treasury and release the funds required for the next phase, in His timing, which is always perfect.

Our first online prayer gathering in 2021 will be at 8.00pm on Monday 4 January.  The login details will be circulated beforehand as usual, so please do look out for them, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible then.

The Sannox Prayer

“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here – in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”

We bless you, in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you and thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC. Be blessed and protected in all you do for the Kingdom, in the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus.
