February 2021 – Prayer News

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” [Ps 107:1 & 136:1]

Scripture frequently reminds and encourages us to give thanks to the Lord, for a whole host of reasons – not least because He is good, and His love endures forever.

We need to hang on to that truth as the finish line to this pandemic seems to come tantalisingly closer, only to recede again into the distance following yet another forecast of the time it will take to get on top of it, even as the roll out of the vaccine gathers pace.

So, even as the lockdown restrictions continue, let us give thanks……

  • that our first online Friends of Sannox evening was a success, with around 50 present and a sense of joy and God’s pleasure as we watched the ‘fly through’ video of the site as it will be when completed, and the series of photos detailing the journey to date, with many positive comments, emails etc. received after the meeting;
  • for the recent grant of £8,800 from the North Ayrshire Council Business Support Fund (Government finance allocated to Councils to disburse to businesses affected by Covid lockdowns, including those providing hospitality).  A further £2,000 per month will be received for the duration of restrictions;
  • for the completion of laying the new non-slip flooring in the renovated church kitchen and toilet areas.

Items for Prayer

  • Successful finalisation and implementation of the Events programme for 2021.  In anticipation that it will be possible to start some form of a programme in a few months, subject always to the circumstances at that time, a varied programme of events and activities has been drafted – see below.
  • Wisdom for the Directors as to when to hold another Friends online gathering and what the focus/theme should be.
  • For God’s healing touch on Margaret Lane, Director, whose ill-health means she is still not able to carry out the role and responsibilities agreed as part of the Board’s re-structuring, and for her husband Brian.
  • For favour on current grant applications towards the cost of the Manse renovations.
  • For a good attendance, a strong sense of God’s presence and that all the technology will work smoothly at our next Prayer gathering at 8.00pm on Monday 1 February.The log in details are below and we will open up at 7.45pm.

The Sannox Prayer

“Today I choose to stand in this place you have called me to,
And I declare that You are a Mighty God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Your Kingdom shall endure and will never be shaken.
Open the windows of Heaven and pour out Your promised blessings in this generation.
Revive us, restore us and heal our land.
Thank you for going before us to open the way and remove all obstacles.
Increase our Faith, stir up Hope and keep us grounded and walking in Love.
Thank you that You are creating a dwelling place for God and man here – in Sannox, on Arran, for the nations.
Amen”

We bless you, in the name of Jesus, to receive all that the Father has for you and thank you for your continuing support of His work at SCC.  Be blessed and protected in all you do for the Kingdom, in the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus.
