What is Sannox Christian Centre

What is the Sannox Christian Centre?

Sannox Christian Centre is a place of rest, forgiveness and restoration with Christ at its centre.  It is:

  • where people can meet personally with their Father God, finding His peace, forgiveness and reconciliation
  • a place of worship and prayer
  • a place open to all
  • a place where people leave behind things that can get in the way of our relationship with God and others.

We set aside three times during the day to pray at 9.30, 12.30 and 5.30 and those staying in the centre are invited to join with their hosts.

The Sannox Christian Centre provides accommodation for up to nine people with four en-suite bedrooms, public dining room, lounge and kitchen.  There are three twin rooms and one room that sleeps three people.  The downstairs twin en-suite is suitable for people with mobility problems but is not fully wheelchair accessible.

All bed linen and towels are provided but guests are asked to strip their own beds when leaving.

If you are not booking all of Dundarroch, please be aware that you may be required to share the limited cooking facilities as well as the communal lounge and dining areas.

Dundarroch is self-catering accommodation.  However food is available at the Corrie Tea Room, across the road opposite Sannox, who may be able to make arrangements for you.  This has to be arranged locally.

Travelling by public transport

Trains run direct from Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour roughly every hour.  Many, but not all, services running to Ardrossan Harbour are timed to connect with the ferries to Brodick.  On arriving in Brodick you can catch a bus (No. 324) at the ferry terminal travelling north to Lochranza; ask the driver to let you off at the Tea Room at the Corrie Golf Club.  The entrance to the Sannox Christian Centre is opposite (3 min walk).  A link to the bus company can be found on the home page.

Ferries from Ardrossan to Brodick are operated by Cal Mac; information on times and cost are available on their website www.calmac.co.uk or phone 08000 66 5000.  Please note that in the summer months when two boats are operating, the bus does not meet the smaller ferry called the Isle of Arran.
Sailing time: 55 minutes

Travelling by Car

Ardrossan to Brodick

It is possible to leave your car in the car park at Ardrossan Harbour and when arriving at Brodick catch the bus to the Sannox Christian Centre – see above.  Taxis and car hire are also available on the island.

However if you are bringing your car on the Ardrossan to Brodick ferry, it is essential to book a vehicle space in advance, especially during the summer season and around the Scottish and English school holidays.  You can book on line at  www.calmac.co.uk or phone 08000 66 5000.
Sailing time: 55 minutes

On arriving at Brodick, turn right out of the ferry terminal and travel through Brodick continuing north up the coast road past the entrance to Brodick Castle for approximately 8 miles.  You will travel through the villages of Corrie and Sannox.  Having passed the Sannox Bay Hotel on the left, you will cross a narrow bridge. The entrance to the Sannox Christian Centre is on the right hand side opposite the Corrie Tea Room.  Please note Sannox is the left hand lane; the other lane is a private house.

Claonaig to Lochranza

There is also a smaller ferry that runs between Clonaig and Lochranza – it is not possible to book your car on this ferry.  Timetables can be viewed at www.calmac.co.uk.  On arriving at Lochranza, turn left off the ferry and take the road to Brodick.  After approximately 6.5 miles you will see the Corrie Golf Club on the right and the entrance to the Sannox Christian Centre on the left.

Check In and Out

Check in is usually after 4.00pm on the day of arrival and check out by 11.00am.  Please let us know your arrival time so someone can be there to greet you.  We may be able to be flexible with these times so please contact us if required.

Smoking is not allowed on the premises of the Sannox Christian Centre.

Unfortunately we are unable to allow dogs in the Centre and in the grounds.

Local Amenities

Please note that there are no shops at Sannox and all food should be bought in Brodick or before arriving on the island.  There is a fridge freezer and microwave in the kitchen.

Sannox Christian Centre is a registered charity and operates solely from donations. There is no charge for staying at the Centre, but we invite donations to cover our running costs and suggest £25 per person per night. No-one is excluded on financial grounds. If you are able to give more, you will be helping us to cover our costs when less financially-able guests stay at the Centre.

UK taxpayers are invited to use Gift Aid for donations – details are on the booking form.

The accommodation in Dundarroch is not suitable for very young children.  Although we want to welcome families at the centre, please note there will be times when it would not be appropriate for children to be there.  Applications for use of the accommodation will be considered on an individual basis.
